La Grande Roue de Paris (Great Wheel Of Paris), 1900

Archival pigment print returns to early 20th-century world's fair culture and the wheel pictured in this original photochrom held the tallest title for 90 years. During the exposition, the wheel stood near the Eiffel Tower adjacent to the Galleria des Machines (shown to the right of the wheel), a vast iron and glass hall displaying engines and other wonders of the age.
